We climbed several ladders like the one seen in this picture. Silas had no fear as he tried to keep up with his brother and sister climbing the ladder.
Our method of travel was the train. For the most part it went pretty well. It is a little hard for a 20 month old to sleep when you start the trip at 3 A.M. but at least you can get up an move around. We had an interesting character sitting behind us who was drunk most of the trip. He was pretty happy so that was good. He kept drinking his "happy juice" as my grandmother would call it. We tried to ignore him the best we could. We also met a nice Amish family traveling from Illinois to Mexico to visit a doctor who used more natural remedies. They were friendly and they had a daughter Mercy's age.
Here are the kids at the courtyard of the hotel. Katy got a great deal on the Courtyard by Marriott hotel. The gal at the check in desk could not believe the rate. She said it was better than the employee rate. It was especially nice since all the hotels were expensive even Super 8 and Motel 6. It pays to have a bargain hunter wife.
